Make these Bolitas de Tamarindo at home and skip the candy store.

I love tamarind pods because they are so versatile. Those magic little vines can be made into just about anything. From agua fresca to barbecue sauce to frozen paletas and the notorious sweet and spicy candy everyone loves.

I’ve been itching to make tamarind candy for quite some time now and today is the day! It’s easy, quick and the result is so delicious. If tamarind pulp is not available, use tamarind pods. All you have to do is peel the outer shell and remove the membrane. Soak the sticky pulp with seeds in hot water until it cools and squeeze the pulp between your fingers to remove the seeds. They’ll pop right out.
