The holidays are near. They commence with pan de muerto (day of the dead bread), chocolate and sugar skulls, tamales, buñuelos and let’s not forget the Thanksgiving spread indulgence and rosca de reyes in January that awaits us.

A Nutritious, Protein Packed Treat: Mango Guava Smoothie

Before we treat ourselves, I’m beginning to be mindful of what I’m cooking and serving my family, specially this time of the year. More vegetables, fruits, fiber, nutrients and protein need to be included in our meals and snacks. One great way I like to incorporate beneficial nutrients is smoothies.

Smoothies made with Real California Milk products such as yogurt, cottage cheese and milk are full of nutrients including protein. Add fruit and vegetables for added nutritional benefits and you have yourself a delicious and healthy drink. Perfect as a breakfast treat, post-workout refresher or a mid-day craving.
