Homemade Onion Rings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Maseca
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup grapeseed oil
  • 2 large onions, sliced


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine Maseca, flour, and chicken bouillon. Stir with a spoon until all dry ingredients have combined.
  2. Beat egg in a medium size bowl.
  3. Heat oil in a medium frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Separate onion slices into rings.
  5. Coat each onion ring in beaten egg then dredge in flour mixture. Carefully place rings, 3-4 at a time in hot oil, turning and coating with oil with a silicone spatula. Fry until golden brown and place in a paper towel-lined plate.
  6. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy.
