We have a saying in our family. “El cafecito de las 5 reconforta.” It roughly translates to “5 o’clock coffee is comfort”.
Early evening is a very special time for our family. It is a time to gather, reflect on the occurrences of our day and catch up on the latest important news or not so important chismes, gossip. All over a cup of coffee.
This has been going on for decades in my family. As soon as the sun began to extinguish into the night, our neighbors in Mexico began to drag their chairs outside their front doors. Our neighborhood was very close. Literally. Our front doors were practically next to each other and led straight to the public sidewalk. No front porches.
Children played on the street, set up makeshift soccer goals and conducted soccer games with a few interruptions as cars coasted their way through the “field”.
My parents sat for hours with the neighbors in loud laughter and in whispers when the conversation turned serious. One thing was for sure, a cup filled with NESCAFÉ® CLÁSICO™
coffee was in their hands. Always steaming and filled to the rim. Magically never-ending.
Times have not changed much. I’ve continued the “cafecito de las 5” tradition with my family and the flavorful aroma of NESCAFÉ CLÁSICO in our cups. We share the special moments of the day over the bold, rich and familiar taste of Nescafé . Our coffee preparation changes with the seasons. On cold nights, we gather indoors with a warm cup of coffee and pan dulce at the center of the table. Sometimes we add a cinnamon stick or sweet cream for a slight variation.
Summertime is no exception. We make the simplest Nescafé Clásico frappes with just a few ingredients that can easily be picked up at Walmart. You don’t need an expensive machine. Just a jar with a tight-fitting lid. That’s it! It’s a welcome treat on those warm summer nights to enjoy outdoors.
Nescafé Clásico can be easily found at your nearest Walmart in the coffee aisle. Click here for a special Ibotta offer to help you save even more on your purchase.

I really enjoyed the Frappe! I have 2 giant jars from Costco and was looking for new ways to drink Nescafe Clasico. 🙂 thank you!
You will get a good use out of those jars with this recipe. So glad you enjoyed it!
Yummo! But I had to watch the video for the recipe instructions to make sense to me, I never made a frappe before. Thanks. My family loved it with our evening dessert.
It’s so easy! And no special machines are needed. Enjoy!
