It’s difficult to stick to a budget during the holidays. You want to show the people in your life how special they are with gifts that are perfect for them.

I challenged myself this year to come up with a gift for the coffee fanatic and tea lover in my life on a very strict budget.  The result was better than what I imagined.  Thanks to The 99 Cents Only Store, I was able to create a couple of loaded gift baskets with lots of their favorites.  Plus, I also picked up a few extra stocking stuffers and holiday decorations for me!

Because I stumbled on so many great deals on gifts, I decided to put together a helpful gift guide on what to include in your coffee and tea gift baskets.  Bookmark this post because next time you visit The 99 Cents Only Store, this will help you save time.

It’s very easy to lose track of time.  You get 99’ed as soon as you walk in the store and next thing you know, you want to buy everything.  From groceries to toiletries, kitchenware and supplies.

First, you need to find a nice-sized bin or basket to use as the container of your gifts.  Keep in mind the container will be used after the gift basket has been taken apart.  I decided to use rectangular bins for my baskets.  They make great storage containers for toys, pantry staples, school and gardening supplies.

The 99 has a variety of bins in every color, size and shape.  It’s up to you what colors you’d like to work with and how much you want to fill it.  I decided to go for the classic red, green and white Christmas colors to keep it festive and appropriate for the season.

For the Coffee Lovers Basket I included the following:

• Santa Suit Coffee mugs.  You can’t have coffee without a fun mug.  The 99 has many designs for you to choose from.  You will not have a problem finding one that fits the gift recipient’s personality and taste.

Coffee.  I opted for the individual instant coffee packages in this gift basket.  The person I am shopping for is always on the go and this is perfect and convenient to have when traveling.  You can also include regular-sized coffee containers if your coffee lover likes to enjoy their coffee at home.

• Prepared drinks.  The 99 has a section full of prepared coffee drinks.  I included latte and mocha beverages to be enjoyed cold.

Cookies and biscotti.  What is coffee if you cannot enjoy it with a sweet accompaniment?  I found so many pastry, cookies, elegant desserts and candy to include in my basket.  I opted for biscotti and cookies but bought some wafers and cinnamon crowns just for me.

Sweeteners and creamers. Its a great idea to include items to inspire the gift recipient to create their own coffee drink.  I included creamer, Mexican chocolate mix (in case they would like to prepare a Mexican mocha), mocha flavored candy canes to use as stirrers and some cute chocolates to enjoy with coffee.

Decorative accents. I wish I could take everything in the holiday decor aisle.  There is always something new and exciting. You never know what you’ll find. The creative possibilities are endless with the different designs and color choices The 99 offers.  It was a difficult decision but I selected the cute light-up snowman ornament, green tree picks and silky green ribbon with red velvet accent.  I also found some adorable cookie boxes I will be using for edible gifts.  They have so much to choose from.

For the Tea Lovers Basket, I included the following:

Tea of course! With so many varieties of flavors and brands at The 99, I included one of each: black tea, white tea, holiday tea blends and decaffeinated tea. Your tea-lover friend might discover a new flavor or brand in this gift.  I like to keep it fun by giving them choices.

Sweeteners.  For the tea lovers that like to add a little sweet to their tea, I included a cute honey bear bottle and a Christmas tree-topped sugar jar for sugar cubes.

Gourmet cookies, wafers and spreads. I love to enjoy tea and cookies every evening and I know the person this is for loves it too.  So I decided to include some delicious wafers and buttery cookies in the basket.  Plus, I found the perfect size peach spread for toast to enjoy with tea.  It went perfect with the theme.

Cozy mug and elf dish.  How cute is the cozy mug with a christmas tree sweater?  It keeps your hands from getting burned and it is very festive and colorful.  The little elf mini-plate is perfect as a tea bag holder or candy dish.

Fun holiday accents and ribbon. To give it an extra touch of holiday cheer, I found an adorable Christmas tree brush and red see-thru ribbon with foil wire edges.  The details take the gift to another level.

As you can see, I was able to stay within budget.  I even included some gifts for myself and my family.  There is no comparison when it comes to finding the best deals on all your favorite name brand items.
