Red Pear Basil Margarita
Red Pear Basil Margarita for a refreshing celebration
It’s Margarita Week! The week leading up to Cinco de Mayo. A great week to research and archive your favorite margarita recipes floating around on the web for you to enjoy on Cinco de Mayo (and any other day of the year).
Margarita week is not just about alcoholic drinks. It’s margarita flavored desserts, non-alcoholic drinks, appetizers and even some savory dishes as well. Visit the Margarita Week page hosted by Hola Jalapeño, and you will see exactly what I’m talking about. So many great recipes to choose from! Every year, the collection grows. Keep it bookmarked because you will definitely be going back for more great recipe ideas.

This year, my contribution to margarita week is this red D’Anjou pear and basil concoction. I’ve been juicing a lot lately. I’ve discovered that pear and basil is an incredible-tasting combination, so I decided to turn it into a cocktail.
The sweetness of the pair and agave syrup blend perfectly with the freshness of the basil leaves. It’s fragrant and sweet. Not overpowering at all. So next time you have a lonely pear waiting around in your fruit bowl, invite some friends over and make them a round of this great-tasting drink.
Have lots of fun this weekend and remember to celebrate responsibly! Salud!
