Description

These Spicy Garbanzo Beans are bold, tangy, and perfectly seasoned with smoky spices and a splash of lime. Ready in just 20 minutes, they’re the ideal snack for soccer Sundays, parties, or any time you’re craving something flavorful and healthy.


Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon chipotle powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon (pinch) ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 (15-ounce) can garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice


Instructions

  1. Combine paprika, garlic salt, ground pepper, ginger, chipotle and cumin in a small bowl. Stir to mix evenly.  Set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add garbanzo beans and fry evenly by stirring with a large spoon and shaking pan; about 15 minutes.  Sprinkle seasoning mix over garbanzo beans and stir to distribute evenly; continue cooking for 2 minutes more.  Transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate and sprinkle with lime juice and lime zest.  Serve immediately.
