Description
This chile de arbol salsa is perfectly spicy. A bit goes a long way because it can really pack a punch. Ideal for giving scrambled eggs a kick or to turn your white chicken pozole red and spicy.
Ingredients

- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- ¾ cup dried arbol chiles
- 2 garlic cloves
- ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
Instructions
- Heat oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add arbol chiles and stir. Lightly fry for 2 minutes stirring rapidly. Do not burn.
- Reduce heat to low, add 3/4 cup water and cover to hydrate chiles. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Transfer chiles with liquid to a blender, add garlic cloves and salt. Blend until smooth. Add water a teaspoon at a time if salsa is too thick.
- Transfer to a serving bowl and serve.
