Ingredients for piloncillo syrup
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 (8 ounce) piloncillo cone
- 1 (2-inch) orange peel
- 2 Tadin Star Anise
- 1 Tadin Cinnamon stick
- 1 (1-inch) piece ginger
Ingredients for tea:
- 2 cups hot water
- 2 Tadin Ginger Blend tea bags
- 1–2 tablespoons piloncillo syrup
- Juice from ½ orange (about 3 tablespoons)
- 1 lemon slice
- 1/2 -inch piece peeled ginger
- 2-inch piece fresh orange peel
Instructions
- Combine piloncillo syrup ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until piloncillo dissolves; 8 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. Remove cinnamon, star anise, orange peel and piece of ginger. Set aside.
- Steep tea bags in a tea pot with hot water for 7 minutes.
- Combine piloncillo syrup and orange juice in a teacup and fill with tea. Add lemon slice, piece of ginger and lemon slice. Twist a piece of orange peel over tea to release its oil then add peel to tea. Enjoy.
