Morir Soñando

Now that summer is here, I am in aguas frescas mode. I’ve been loading up my fruit basket weekly with seasonal produce and my favorite aguas frescas pitcher is constantly full. This week, I made morir soñando. Morir soñando is a very popular drink in the Dominican Republic. Its name means “to die dreaming” and it refers to its to die-for flavor. It’s delicious and resembles the taste of a creamsicle or a mall favorite, Orange Julius. Remember?

My son loves this drink because it’s sweet, creamy and refreshing. It’s the ideal kid drink and so easy to prepare. The combination of freshly squeezed orange juice, evaporated milk and sugar give it the perfect sweetness.
