Ever since I finished developing recipes for my Aguas Frescas & Paletas book (releasing in April – shameless plug), I’ve upped my homemade beverage-making more than ever. I purposely purchase ridiculous amounts of lemons and limes to make homemade lemonade and limeade. But when there is a an extra fruit around, I tend to add it as well to give it a different flavor twist. This time, it was pomegranates.

By adding a bit of pomegranate, this limeade was elevated into a sweet, pink Valentine’s Day beverage. It was so perfect with the finicky weather we’ve been having lately. It was 80 degrees this past weekend and this refresher hit the spot.

If you have a couple of lonely pomegranates in your fruit bowl, or if out of season – pomegranate juice works just as well, I recommend you give your lemonade a touch of this pretty fruit.
