Chocolate Polvorones
I think we can all use a cookie with a tall glass of milk right now. These are my choice: Chocolate polvorones.
I’ve been doing lots of recipe development work lately. Lots of savory dishes and full meals we’ve been enjoying. It was time to satisfy my sweet tooth with this chocolatey cookie.
No one in my home can resist these. They are similar to a shortbread cookie but loaded with chocolate and topped with Imperial Sugar’s Confectioner’s sugar. They are crispy and crumbly with a nice bite. These cookies can last a week, so make plenty to stuff in lunch boxes and enjoy as a sweet treat.
Not to be confused with Mexican wedding cookies, or Mexican polvorones. These cookies are a variation of the Spanish polvorones, also called mantecados because they are made with shortening.

Enjoy these with a tall glass of milk or a strong black coffee. They are the perfect treat when you are craving something sweet.
