Jamoncillo de leche is milk fudge made with milk, brown sugar, sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract. That’s it! The process is simple and can be made quickly at home. Perfect to gift to your loved ones or enjoy yourself when you’re in the mood for something sweet.
This version of jamoncillo is nut-free but you can add a pecan half to each square as the candy hardens. It’s so tasty and reminds me of my walks down the vendor busy streets of Tijuana.
To prepare your own, visit the Imperial Sugar website. I found their Light Brown Sugar works best in this recipe. The flavor is light, creamy and nutty. Just like the authentic Mexican treat.
