I have seen so many beautiful Halloween candy trays on social media lately that I just had to make one for Dia de Muertos. I used a variety of my favorite traditional Mexican candy and just a few colorful American candy I love.

There are no rules in putting something like this together. Just gather your favorites and have fun! I plan on displaying this tray in my home and replenishing now and then for when we have guests. I plan on building a large altar this year to feature in one of my cookbooks and I will be inviting people over to see it. This tray will be the perfect festive display.

Don’t forget to include some classic favorites like mazapan and M&M’s for your chocolate lovers. Find skeleton or sugar skull themed candies and gummy worms to go with the theme. Those are always fun.

I’ve included a list below on where to find these candies. But you can always find them at your local Latin grocery store. Harder to find items such as the edible flowers and butterflies can be found at Amazon.

This was such a fun tray to put together. I hope you jump on the candy tray bandwagon this year. It’s a great family activity and, hello?! CANDY!!
