If you haven’t noticed before, we are an avid coffee-drinking family. When family comes over, we prepare a hot pot of NESCAFÉ® CLÁSICO™. Friends unexpectedly (and expectedly) stop by? The water kettle is immediately placed over a flame on the stove. Time to tackle work? A cup of coffee must be by our side. Time to unwind? Yes, you guessed it: time for coffee
A great cup of coffee symbolizes so much more than just an after-dinner treat. Its taste and aroma are comforting. It signifies love around the family table, an intimate conversation, and laughter between friends. It’s also a much-needed moment alone to reflect on what the day has in store for you. And almost always, it’s the perfect ending to a homemade meal.
This tradition isn’t new for us. I grew up around Nescafé. I clearly remember the stubby jar from the 1980’s and my amazement at their “granulated innovation.” I loved watching the granules dissolve as I prepared my father’s Sunday morning “cafecito.” Nothing but nostalgia.
Now, Nescafé Clásico is a staple in our home. We enjoy its bold and rich flavor on a daily basis. I usually find it in the coffee aisle at my nearest Walmart. If you don’t drink caffeinated drinks, you can also find Nescafé Clásico Decaf. It’s also available on Walmart.com for your convenience. The value is unbeatable: it’s 100 cups and 100% pure coffee.
We had a friend over this past weekend and I decided to prepare a delicious coffee flan for everyone to enjoy after dinner. Of course, its sweetness paired perfectly with a hot cup of Nescafé Clásico.

PrintCoffee Flan | Flan de Café
Description
Satisfy your sweet tooth with this coffee flavored flan. Creamy and rich.
Ingredients
1 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons water
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12-ounce) can evaporated milk
5 eggs
2 tablespoons Nescafé Clásico
boiling water
coffee beans for decorating (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 325° F.
Combine sugar and water in a medium pan and heat over medium heat. Bring water and sugar to a boil and swirl around pan; do not stir. Remove from heat as soon as caramel mixture turns amber in color.
Pour caramel into a 10-inch mold. Carefully swirl mold to evenly coat bottom. Set aside.
Place milks, eggs and coffee granules in a blender container. Blend until all ingredients have mixed thoroughly.
Place mold in a large roasting pan. Pour mixture into mold. Add boiling water to roasting pan, filling approximately halfway.
Carefully place roasting pan with mold in the oven and bake for 60-65 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool in roasting pan with water.
Remove mold from roasting pan, cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate 4 hours to overnight.
Run a small knife around flan edges. Gently shake mold to loosen flan. Place a large plate over mold and quickly turn upside down for flan to drop onto the plate.
Decorate with coffee beans, slice and serve.
