It never failed that at least one night out of the week, dinner was a stressful time. The day’s work and chores would get the best of me and once it was time to cook dinner, I was tired, dinner was rushed, and the family was not as happy as they could’ve been if I had more time.
Other times, I dealt with a picky eater. Whether it was the funny texture of rice, the color of broccoli and the taste of pasta, I just couldn’t get my toddler to eat a decent meal. Times were tough and changes needed to happen.
After years of hits and misses, I finally found a foolproof product that will get all the kiddos in my family rushing to the dinner table: I discovered Yummy Dino Buddies. Yummy Dino Buddies are boneless, skinless white chicken breast meat nuggets in the shape of fun dinosaurs. They are packed with protein and Omega-3s. These dinosaur-shaped chicken breast nuggets are 100% natural, fully cooked with no antibiotics, trans fat, preservatives, hormones or artificial ingredients. They are completely, 100% kid approved.
When we have cousins or neighbor friends over for playdates, Yummy Dino Buddies are met with excitement during snack or dinnertime. I encourage playing at the dinner table in order to make mealtime memorable and fun. We play with our food and create some pretty amazing dinosaur lands with our vegetables and carbs. As we discover new foods, we incorporate them into our “dino lands” for all to enjoy. Ready in under 30 minutes, Yummy Dino Buddies are guaranteed to please any picky palate.
Yummy Dino Buddies lands don’t have to be complicated. All you need is a bit of creativity and a variety of familiar and unfamiliar ingredients.
Rice, pasta, quinoa, couscous, mashed potatoes or hummus can serve as the base or background of your “land.” Broccoli, asparagus, lettuce, or spinach can be arranged as trees, while microgreens, baby arugula or watercress can be small shrubs or greenery. Nuts and pretzel sticks make great rocks and tree trunks, too. Fruit can be added for a touch of color around your plate and cheese slices can be cut with small food cut-out molds for decorative shapes.
For our Yummy Dino Buddies “land” we used the following:
•White rice for background
•Broccolini trees
•Pretzel sticks bark
•Alfalfa sprouts for greenery and shrubs
•Cheddar cheese heart cut-outs
•A peeled mandarin as the bright sun
•A hard-boiled egg as a cracked dino egg. The crack was drawn with a black permanent marker.
•A side of raspberries for a pop of color and sweet.
Yummy Dino Buddies can be found at your nearest grocery store. I was able to find the 42-ounce and 60-ounce box at Albertson’s and the smaller 24-ounce box at Walmart.
