Say hello to Summer with a Blackberry Hibiscus Fizz
If you are a fan of carbonated drinks but not a fan of the loads of sugar in them, I have the perfect drink for you. It’s fruity, tangy, fizzy and refreshing. It’s a blackberry hibiscus fizz. Made with just a few Hibiscus blooms, blackberries, sparkling water and a hint of honey, this popular beverage will be your Summer drink of choice.

Hibiscus can be found just about anywhere now. If it’s not available in your local grocery store, look for it in the the dried chiles and spices section of your Latin markets. They are packaged in large bags so you’ll have plenty for a cool agua de Jamaica to prepare at a later date. Reserve your soaked hibiscus flowers, those are edible and make great garnishes in drinks. Blackberry Hibiscus Fizz
- Yield: Serves 2
Ingredients

- 1/4 cup dried hibiscus flowers
- ½ cup water
- 3 ounces blackberries, rinsed
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 3 cups sparkling water
- ice
Instructions
- Soak hibiscus flowers for 2 hours in water.
- Divide blackberries and ice in two serving glasses.
- Pour sparkling water in serving glasses ¾ full. Stir in 1 teaspoon of honey and ¼ cup hibiscus tea in each glass.
- Garnish with soaked hibiscus flowers.
