Happy Valentine’s Day! How do you celebrate it? We tend to stay home and spend time together as a family. Sometimes we celebrate with a special homemade dinner and a fun dessert as a sweet ending to our meal.
This year, we all got involved in making dessert. I’ve been obsessed with Sprouts Farmers Markets Cherries and their semi-sweet chocolate chips. Cherry and chocolate flavor combination is one of my favorite dessert pairings so I decided to make something everyone will love. Graham cracker toffee bark is delicious and simple enough for my 9-year old son to help make. It was also the perfect excuse to get Sprouts Organic Graham Crackers and to browse in their bulk bins for other toppings to make our bark even more delicious and full of crunchy texture.
To compliment the sweet and juicy cherries, we also selected sun flower seeds, coconut thread, dried grapes and sprinkle of sea salt to to give this candy a sweet and savory profile. The result was amazing! We made two more batches and included them in a Valentine’s take out box as a gift to our friends.
I can’t wait to recreate this dessert snack with other seasonal fruits, nuts, candy and dried fruits. I can’t wait to try it with pomegranate arils, dried raspberries, blue berries and other nuts such as hazelnuts and salted pistachios. It can make a great edible gift for the holidays and travels well in lunch boxes and snack bags.
