I’m always up for a baseball game. But when it comes to being invited to a baseball game in a Dodger stadium luxury suite by the number one Hispanic cheese brand in the U.S., I’d be a fool to pass up the opportunity. The theme was Cacique Double Header and the stars of the evening were not the LA Dodgers but Cacique Brand of Hispanic Cheeses and Yogurt Smoothies. (Ok, the Dodgers where stars too).
The match up was the LA Dodgers vs. The Colorado Rockies. The baseball spread featured a tasty flour tortilla quesadilla station made with Cacique’s Four Quesos Blend. Those mouthwatering little pockets of cheese paired perfectly with the variety of chicken and beef fajitas. Top those babies with spicy salsa, guacamole and a drizzle of Cacique Crema Mexicana and I’ve hit a home run in flavor.
With Kershaw at the mound, and anxiously waiting for his strike out magic to appear, I had the opportunity to pair the menu’s flat bread chicken sandwich with dollops and dollops of cilantro lime Crema Mexicana at every bite. When it was time for the seventh inning stretch, I was definitely ready for dessert and dive into the yogurt parfait bar. The yogurt parfait combinations were endless. I was excited to get my hands on my favorite Cacique Yogurt Smoothie flavor, pecan with cereal, and layer it with plump berries, mango chunks, toasted coconut and maybe just a few sprinkles of crushed cookies.
The trick to a yogurt smoothie parfait is to serve your toppings first. I know, then they wouldn’t be considered “toppings”, so let’s call them “accompaniments.” After you’ve chosen your ingredients, pour in your yogurt smoothie and you’ve got blue heaven in a cup as demonstrated in the short video below.
So if you enjoying your favorite sporting event at home, packing up for for a game at the park, or joining the Major Leagues with a snack bag, don’t forget to include these easy and convenient treats made with Cacique brand cheeses and yogurt smoothies. Check out some of my recipes I’ve developed with Cacique. I guarantee they’ll be a hit at any get together:
- Churro Chips with Mexican Chocolate Crema
- Cheese Stuffed Squash Blossoms with Chipotle Cream Sauce
- Queso Fresco and Avocado Wontons with Cilantro Lime Crema
- Cheesy Meatball Cups
- Spicy Marinated Cheese and Olives
- Cactus Salad Quesadillas
The party crew at Dodger Stadium. Thank you Cacique for such a memorable night! And if you’re wondering, the Dodgers won!
