Chipotle is a great, versatile chile that can be incorporated into so many dishes. Whether those dishes are savory or sweet, the intense smoky spice from the chile is a great addition that can take a dish to a new level of taste.
Chipotle chiles in adobo are a staple in my pantry. Because a little goes a long way, La Morena brand chipotles in adobo are packed in small 7-ounce cans. The adobo sauce is what I use most to season my dishes on a day to day basis. Because the chile’s heat can be intense, I like to blend the individual chiles with an ingredient that will tame the heat but will not mask the unique smoky flavor of the chile. Ingredients such as table cream, creme fraiche, sour cream or even goat cheese balance the flavor to an enjoyable level of piquant flavor.
Because holiday parties are right around the corner, appetizers will be on every party planner’s mind. Simple pick-up food such as a basic turkey meatball recipe, can be improved 100 times with an easy but flavorful dipping sauce.
By pairing up the burn of the chipotle adobo with the sweet taste of raw honey, your meatball recipe will become alive with a chipotle honey dipping sauce made in under five minutes. It’s that easy.
Find La Morena products at your local supermarket. I shop for mine at my Ralph’s grocery store. They can be found in the Hispanic product isle.
